Flipping Websites – Buying and Selling in the New Economy

If you’ve been flipping websites, or even just thinking of it, you might be wondering how all the recent changes in the world have effected it as a business.

Well, on one hand, it’s a jungle out there. I have never seen more people promoting website flipping as the way to get rich quick, and then delivering a product that is complete rubbish. I mean, even from some people who have a good reputation. This “website flipping thing” is just another in a long line of topics that they can write their crap ebooks about and sell for a quick $17 or $117 on the web. And 90% are the same ebook, slightly re-edited with a new name and new “author.” Of course that’s not unique to buying and selling websites. As I write this, I am having my own problems with a highly praised internet marketer with a long track record. I am starting to realize that the gurus are the last people anyone should trust. They get their info from hard working guys who have perfected a business approach, they adopt as their own, and then they use it to climb into your wallet. The people to trust are those who are actually in the trenches and actually doing what they are talking about.

These guys aren’t famous, but they are making money successfully. And if you can get them to share it, it doesn’t just all add up to one endless hustle for more of your money.

Which brings me to Modest Max again. I wrote about guy when I first launched this blog – he even has “hello world” in the URL. (Real professional, I know.) Max is solid, and knows what he is talking about. He has a one-time project, with free updates and free forum access. You don’t need monthly fees to get your questions answered. Max is quiet, down to earth, and super professional.

In fact, he didn’t even let on that he had a partner through all of this. A guy named Kyle who pretty much handled the operations for Max as Max went on to other things. And now Kyle is the main face behind Buying and Selling Websites. He is now working to add loads of new content to the site, all updated completely to 2010. When that’s done, the price is going back up to the original $300. That’s the plan anyway. Maybe it will only be $199, maybe it will be $499. But one thing for sure – it will not be the current price of $99.

For those of us that have bought in at $99, we get all the updates at no extra charge, as well as full access to the forum and anything else they come up with there.

What makes Buying and Selling Websites different are a couple things. For one, you get all the good stuff right off. They are  not like many products, where you buy in hoping to get full training – and then you find out that there is a premium membership where all the really good stuff is. It’s all laid out. Very simple. Very straight forward. And step by step.

Better yet, each lesson comes in three formats. The video version, the audio version, and the pdf printable version. If you’re like me, I hate to sit and watch a video unless I know that it’s necessary. I prefer to listen to the audio while I drive. Then, if anything is unclear, I look through the video. Finally, if I need notes, I print out the pdf. Whatever type of learner you are, you’re covered here.

The other thing is, as I said before, Max and Kyle’s vision is long term. They’re not nickle and dime guys. Many website flippers concentrate on putting up quick and dirty sites, and then selling them for a modest profit on forums and Ebay. This is certainly one way to make money, and is maybe good for you if you have no cash at all and need to generate some.

However, sites like these are commodities…like onions (which I used to sell in a past life). Try as hard as you want to brand yourself, but if you’re selling a commodity you have to compete on price. Your good reputation will indeed cut you some slack. But it won’t e enough to make you rich any time soon.

Max and Kyle build more than websites. They build going businesses. And thus, they can sell them for serious 6 figure prices. And though I said long term, that doesn’t mean you have to wait to sell a site before you start seeing money. If you follow the lessons, you can build a site with regular monthly income to support you until you are ready to sell. In fact, you may not be all that keen to sell unless you get a big fat offer, because these will be your cash cows.

Included for your $99 are files filled with all the contracts they use to buy websites and to sell them, so you won’t end getting guru’d when you buy or when you sell. Imagine losing not only the sale price, but having your profitable website stolen from you! These contract have been drawn up with lawyers, and based on Max and Kyle’s actual experiences. These documents alone are worth more than you are paying for the entire course. (They paid $3000 to have just one of the contracts drawn up.)

So head over to their sales page, and watch the free videos. Even if you buy nothing, you’ll be much smarter about flipping websites after watching. In fact, I’m surprised I haven’t seen those videos stolen and sold $27 on Ebay yet.

The course is extensive. A few of the sections at Buying and Selling Websites are these:

  • Where to find cheap sites to buy
  • How one STUPID site sold for $33 million dollars!
  • Live examples, and reviews of sites that you might think of buying
  • Business agreements, non-disclosure agreements, contracts  and spreadsheets
  • How to choose a winning market and start with almost no risk
  • Real examples of good websites to buy
  • How to “cold call” and get the best price
  • How to build a site
  • How to grow membership sites
  • Stealth negotiation techniques to buy low and sell high
  • How to make $100,000 this year
  • How to buy a $24,000 site if you are broke

I haven’t seen anything out there that comes close to this. There’s a whole lot of hype, and some great sales pages that really make you want to buy – but this is the one product that I personally use as my website flipping bible.

Take a look, and tell me what you think.
